Another month gone, another zine made! I'm still filling in the gaps for last year, but in the meantime trying to stay on top of this year. So here is my zine for February.
Highlights included: the first signs of spring, a non-perfect-looking but pretty tasty pavlova I made, attempts at getting outside more frequently, I made a new issue of Amass Zine and people bought some, more chasing steam through the window, photographing an opening at CAA, a very flat cap and a mouth guard in gutters, a lovely wedding at Hedingham Castle and one of my favourite days of the year - Pancake Day!
I also used to blog about things I'd enjoyed throughout the month so I'm bringing that back - I like hearing people's recommendations so I like to think people might be interested in mine, too. Find them after the zine.
Other things I've enjoyed this month that I didn't take pictures of:
Unboxing Alex Frost, Firstsite, until 19 April 2020 - these underwater unboxing videos are shown on a huge screen so they fill the whole wall and are really hypnotic. I particularly enjoyed the Berocca and the shaving gel.
Frank Turner's Tales from No Man's Land - I really enjoyed hearing all the stories about these women through history and highly recommend checking it out.
I'm going to try to read more in March!
Shrill - absolutely brilliant but this meant I watched it too quickly - I'll have to watch it again!
Ink Master - think Great British Bakeoff but for tattoos. Tim and I got completely addicted to this.
Better Things - thanks to Jenny for the tip on this.
The Americans - way behind on this but really like it (i.e., no spoilers please).
James May, Our Man in Japan - I think we probably watched this in January but I haven't recommended it yet so am adding it here, it was great!
9-5 - really enjoyed this!
Parasite - went to the cinema for the first time in ages and really enjoyed it!
If you've got any recommendations please send them to me!
Hi, I'm Jayne Lloyd, a professional photographer based in Essex. If you would like to speak to me about working together please don't hesitate to get in touch - it doesn't have to be about zines, but it can be if you like.
