Issue 03 of Amass is finally here - hooray! It's called Smear: 'to spread or daub (an oily, greasy, viscous, or wet substance) on or over something' and this one is a collection of mucky handprints on a range of walls in public places.
The recurring theme in my personal work has been documenting the traces that people leave behind. I like thinking about the stories behind them - why do people decide to wipe dirt from their hands on to a wall, where it will stay pretty much forever?
It's a 'foldy' zine, made from a sheet of A4 printed by Moo, and folded and cut by me to make a 6-page A7 booklet with an A4 poster on the reverse - three different image variations. The bright white paper is quite thick (200gsm) and I folded it by hand so it doesn't line up totally perfectly, but that's part of the charm!
If you know me in the 'real world' I'll have a few on me if you'd like a look, but if you'd like to buy one online they are available to buy On Etsy here: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/764364606/amass-zine-03-smear-a-foldy-photo-zine
for £1.50 + postage. I've also had more copies of issues 01 and 02 printed so you can buy the whole set, if you want!
Hi, I'm Jayne Lloyd, a professional photographer based in Essex. If you would like to speak to me about working together please don't hesitate to get in touch - it doesn't have to be about zines, but it can be if you like.
