The latest Shutter Hub exhibition, Everything I Ever Learnt, is now open at Art at the ARB, at the University of Cambridge, and I'm really pleased to have 3 images in it too! This is one of them, you'll have to come along to see the others (I'll probably share the others online too at a later date, but it's nice to keep them a bit exclusive at first, at least).
I loved this part of the Call for Entries:
"That image reminds me of something. It ignites a small flame that lights my way through the filing system of my mind. It brings me eventually to the hint of a memory, and that memory guides my interpretation of the image, influences my reaction, connects my thoughts and feelings, and threads them together, binding them into a new collection, to be drawn upon the next time something familiar arises.
Everything I have seen, felt, remembered,
everything, influences and informs every thought I will ever have."
I love the imagery it conjured, and it made me think about how all my experiences, what I've read, what I've looked at, everything I've picked up over the years, comes through in some small way in the way I look at the world and in the way I choose to photograph it.
It's an incredible show with a huge range of images from around 100 fantastic, creative photographers - we worked with the Newspaper Club again on this so all participants could let us take care of printing and hanging, and I can't wait to see it all in place!
We're having a launch on Thursday 4 April, 6-8pm - it'd be lovely to see you there if you can join us! RSVP to [email protected]
