At the end of last year I had the pleasure of working with Gunnersbury Park Museum for the first time. The museum has recently been renovated and the park's historic features restored and re-opened to the public, and it's stunning! The building itself has been really beautifully renovated and the grounds are wonderful. I was a bit early so I went for a wander, and although I only scratched the surface of the park it was lovely to see all the colours of the trees, people running, walking their dogs and just enjoying the park with their families - a very special place.
My brief for the day was to capture the Winter Fair - visitors interacting in workshops and the general displays as well as the building and grounds. It was such a lovely day filled with Christmas spirit, creativity and I learnt a fair bit too! The carols were performed beautifully, creativity unleashed with handcrafted crackers, faces painted with intricate designs and the kitchen workshops were wonderful, I think we all felt like we'd travelled back in time.
I've been back a few times since to capture some lovely workshops and events and am looking forward to working more with Gunnersbury this year. I encourage you to visit if you can - you can check out their What's On guide for all the new events, including their first ever season of Museum Lates, a tour and talk for International Women's Month, a Craft Horticulture Workshop and Write & Shine workshops that sound like a lot of fun!
It was lovely to work with such a great team at Gunnersbury and I look forward to visiting again soon!
