Last week I had a lovely evening photographing a 'Meet the Makers' evening event at Contemporary Applied Arts in Bankside, London, as part of their Architectural Jewellery exhibition for the Bankside Design District for the London Design Festival.
Architectural Jewellery was a fabulous showcase of bold constructed, modernist and architecturally-inspired jewellery by CAA's maker members. Although the show itself has sadly now come to an end, many of the pieces are still able to be seen at CAA, where their constantly changing shop is always full of fantastic pieces by their 350 members, who represent the top talent in the UK today working across the disciplines of ceramics, glass, textiles, jewellery, metal and wood, creating unique hand made functional and non-functional objects.
'Meet the Makers' events are a fantastic opportunity to meet the people behind the designs and to find out more about their creative process. Here are a few photos from the evening - you can see the full gallery here, and please do visit CAA's website to learn more about them.
