Do You Like Love? Exhibition

Last week was the private view of the 'Do You Like Love' exhibition by Shutter Hub at Salt & Pegram, as part of Photomonth. I was really pleased to have a piece, 'Remains from family photographs, dining room', selected to be included in the exhibition after I responded to the call for entries. I joined Shutter Hub earlier this year having met Karen at a portfolio review with The Old Girls Club and have really enjoyed being involved.

Shutter Hub Exhibtion Private View at Salt & Pegram, East London It was great seeing how everyone responded to the brief - such a variety of work and a lot of alternative processes too - really diverse. I recommend having a look if you are in East London. I was quite taken with the lighting on display too!

TransitionTransitionSigns of love left behind by the previous home-owners. My piece was from a body of work documenting the traces of previous residents in my new house - in particular for this brief I was looking for signs of things that they did for love. This image is from my dining room, where there are nails in the chimney breast, upon which used to hang lots of family photographs - daily reminders of happy times. Other images from this series are on display as part of the Firstsite Open Exhibition, which I'll be blogging about soon.

The exhibition runs until 26 November - more details on how to visit can be found here on the Shutter Hub website.
